Anorexia and bulimia –
A life without weight

Until today the intellectuals disagree about the cause of anorexia and bulimia: a genetic defect in the biochemistry of the body or a psychological problem. In fact problems like anorexia and bulimia are not problems of a psychological dimension but show an effect upon a past social surrounding.

Many people who come to me to a personal coaching are convinced that the unexplained problems of eating, like anorexia or bulimia are rooted in a psychological dimension. But it is not a problem of the psyche but a problem of the human interaction with the social surrounding and its interpretation through the person in case.

‘After a car accident, the victims get psychological support. At that moment no one is suggesting that the problem is founded in the psychological dimension, despite the fact that we express panic and shock. It is the accident, which cause an effect in our psyche.’

Psychological problems, like anorexia or bulimia are not expressions of the past psyche, but express an effect upon a past social surrounding. In fact the diverse expressions of physical and mental illness are visible knock-downs of an invisible human interaction between parents-children, children-school, husband-wife and their mindful interpretation.

A ‘therapy of molecule’ is trying to solve problems in the body and the soul, which in fact are not really there but somewhere else. We are not ill, our social surrounding and their interpretation are incongruent, which means a missing regulation will lead to a negative regression in our psychological and physiological dimension.

The way we interact with our surrounding and our surrounding is interacting with us solves us into bodily and mental expressions. A dissolving is possible if we ask us the question: ‘How we do, what we do.’

Our psychological problems are no more a problem of the psychological dimensions as our mind is a process of neurology. Neurology with all their colourful pictures tries to make us belief that consciousness is a product of the brain, just like urine is a product of the kidney. But our consciousness is definitely not dependent on the amount of brain matter but on our surrounding, how we treat it and how it treats us.

The few visible and spontaneous solutions of psychological problems have one thing in common: They are all based on the gain of a new perspective and with it the newly emerging and rigid transformation of the way of living. Only with a new long-lasting change of our way of live and our surrounding can we solve our psychological problems.

The human evolution is therefore not a mechanistic-materialistic process, as we are told in school, but a noetic process. The mind is not a thing, but a process.

A systematic-sociological work concentrates on the creation of a living interaction of parents-children, children-school, husband-wife and does not limit itself to solve deep psychological problems which are not really there. A reassessment of the social history of a relationship between parents and children is probably the most important requirement for a quick cure.
